Based in and around the Wear Valley, our club provides a wide
range of activities for riders of all abilities - from beginners
to serious competitors - as well as a variety of social events.
The club was founded in 1989, and now has members from as far
afield as Ireshopeburn, Washington, and Newcastle. We have a
year-round programme of activities, including fun rides, training,
visits and talks, and social activities such as barbecues, visits
to the races, and even bowling.
We run regular training sessions, with expert instructors,
covering everything from cross-country to dressage to music. They
range from introductory sessions to new disciplines for beginners
to clinics with specialist instructors. Our teams compete
throughout the area, and have represented the region successfully
in national competitions - in 2004 we became equitation jumping
champions and the 2005 season culminating in our
Rural Riders team winning the National Riding Club championships
in Lincoln.

The committee would like to hear from members as to what
events they would like to see arranged. A number of the rallies over
